This event is being held to raise funds for nominated local and national charities including Prostate Cymru and Surfers Against Sewage. It is a festive fun run of approximately 10km (as close as we can get it as it is “multi-terrain”) taking place in Broad Haven on Saturday 30th November at 12pm. The cost of entry is £12 for WAA affiliated runners and £14 for non-associated/independent runners (plus a small admin fee for the entry site). This cost includes a Christmas pudding on crossing the finish line, a wooden medal and a complimentary mulled wine (or non alcoholic alternative) and mince pie afterwards at the Ocean Café Bar.



PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRY FOR THIS YEARS’ RUN IS NOW CLOSED. There will be no entries accepted on the day. Please email for any further details or with any questions. The runners have to be aged over 15 on the day of the run for insurance purposes. For younger runners (from 0-14 years) there will be a children’s “Mini Xmas Puds Run” on the beach at 1.30pm (weather dependent – entry on the day).



Please park only in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park car parks, one of which is on the right as you enter Broad Haven on the B4327 from Haverfordwest or one on Marine Road opposite the Galleon Inn. Please do not park on the road along the sea front or on residential roads. It is only a short walk from the car parks to the Ocean Café bar.



Public toilets are available in the car park on Marine Road, and there are facilities in the Ocean Café/bar.



Your race numbers will be given to you at registration, in your race envelope. Numbers must be worn on the FRONT during the run. They must not be folded and must be pinned in all four corners – please bring your own pins! (we will have some spares). You need to write your name, any medical condition(s) you may have, and an emergency contact number on the back of your race number. Race belts are allowed provided the number is visible to the front and is not folded.




Run registration will take place at the Ocean café/bar Broad Haven between 8.30am and 11.30 am on Saturday 30th November – please don’t leave this till the last minute! This will be where you receive your running envelope. It will contain:

  • Your running number
  • Flyers from the event sponsors

Please ensure that you are in the right age category on the entry list!!



This will take place in the bar of the Ocean café/bar at 11.45am. It is essential that you attend this, as the final route and safety information will be confirmed at this stage. The run will be going ahead WHATEVER THE WEATHER so take this into consideration when deciding on what to wear – there will be a prize for the “Best Dressed Runner” although festive dress is entirely optional.



The run will start at 12pm on Broad Haven Beach opposite the Ocean Café/bar. The route is described below with a map on the next page. It will be clearly signposted with plenty of marshals on hand to help.

Please note that all main junctions will be marshalled, but please be aware that marshals cannot stop traffic and the race is run on open roads so it is your responsibility to run safely. Anything deemed to be unsafe will be recorded by marshals and offenders will be put in the stocks and force-fed Christmas puddings. Unfortunately, the use of personal stereo equipment/headphones is not allowed for safety reasons. We will endeavour to make sure there is music on loudspeakers at points along the run to help keep spirits high.



First aid cover will be available during the run, so in the unlikely event that you need medical attention please alert a race official who will act accordingly. If for any reason you decide to pull out of the race (this includes not starting the race after you have registered), you MUST report to an official at the finish, so that this can be recorded and we know that you are safe. Everyone who starts the race must be accounted for, so please avoid the cost and worry of a missing person search by reporting in. If you suffer from any medical condition (e.g. asthma) please write details on the back of your race number. This should help ensure you receive the correct treatment in the event of any emergency.



On finishing the race, you will be presented with your medal and there will be water at the finish line. As part of our Plastic Free village status, the Xmas Puddings are being baked on site in The Ocean and can be redeemed in the Ocean on showing your medal. Mulled wine (or non alcoholic alternative) and nibbles will be provided by the Ocean café/bar after the run and there will be a short prizegiving in the bar at 2.00pm. Prizes will be awarded for the winners of the following age categories:

There is also the highly prized “JOHN HART BEST DRESSED RUNNER” prize, who will be chosen by an impartial panel of experts!

This year also marks the return of our Race Number Raffle. If you hand your running number back in to the registration desk in the Ocean, we will draw these at the prize giving – more chances to win! People will also be able to purchase extra race numbers to put into the raffle at a cost of £1, so non runners will also have a chance to win something this year.

The Mini Xmas Puds Run will be on the beach at 1.30 – children will receive medals etc. on the beach so there won’t be a prizegiving for the children. The children’s run is weather dependent, so will be confirmed on the day.



Please note: this year we are not providing showers after the run, as there hasn’t been the demand in the past to warrant the football club cleaning and heating their facilities.
